How to replace Oracle JRE/JDK by Zulu JRE/JDK

This document explains how to replace Oracle Java 8 Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) on an existing Sage X3 environment by the open-source Zulu JRE or JDK 8 provided by Azul Systems.

Why migrating from Oracle JRE/JDK 8 to Azul Systems Zulu JRE/JDK 8

Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) April 2019 versions require commercial licensing to be used on production systems.
This may be different for non-production or development environments. Consult Oracle's documentation to determine if you need a license.

If you want to update Oracle JRE or JDK used on Sage X3 environments to any version released from April 2019, purchase a license from Oracle.
For Java 8 that is normally used in Sage X3 environments, any JRE or JDK update to version 8u211 (released in April 2019) or later is subject to licensing fees from Oracle in a subscription model.
